Tomorrow morning Sinaloa’s governor, Mario López Valdez, the governor of Durango, Jorge Herrera Caldera, Mazatlán Mayor Higuera Osuna, and other dignitaries will be at Mazatlán’s port to welcome the first cruise ship to dock in the city in a long, long time.

According to the mayor the municipality has invested 1.5 million pesos ($110,000) to prepare Mazatlán for this day.

The patching of streets, repairing street lights, tree plantings, and other improvements have been made where the incoming tourists are most likely to see them.

Restaurants and shops in the Golden Zone have new coats of paint and hotel areas are clean and ready for inspection by the visitors.

Everyone associated with the tourism industry hopes the changes made by the city will be seen, appreciated, and help entice the tourists to return to Mazatlán.
