The 755,000th passenger to arrive at Mazatlán’s Rafael Buelna airport this year was greeted yesterday afternoon with a celebration of balloons, confetti and gifts from stores within the terminal.
The surprised recipient of the celebration was Ana María Ramírez Arellano, a resident of Mazatlán, who had just returned from a vacation in Mexico City.
Administrator of the airport, José Luis Villanueva, told media 731,000 passengers passed through the airport in 2013 and although they were celebrating the 755,000th yesterday this year was not yet over and he expected to exceed 760,000 by the end of December.
